Snoozing your alarm isn’t cute — it’s just not. The more you do it, the more you feel like a rat in a cage. But that doesn’t mean you can’t stop. Here are five steps to never hit the snooze button again and finally get some much-needed shut-eye.

Change your alarm sound

Even if you’re not particularly attracted to the sound your alarm makes, you may find yourself changing it if you force yourself to listen to it every morning. Make a point of changing the sound so that it doesn’t remind you of your alarm. Pick a new sound that you like — something that doesn’t trigger any feelings of anxiety.

Put your alarm on a different wall, use a different alarm clock, or get yourself a new alarm clock. You don’t have to get an expensive one — even a cheaper, older model can be ideal. Just make sure that the alarm you pick doesn’t remind you of your old alarm sound.

Always turn off your alarm before it goes off

As if your alarm isn’t easy to get on the wrong side of in the first place, it can be really easy to accidentally hit the wrong button and turn off your alarm. Obviously, you don’t want this to happen — it’s rude and inconsiderate.

To prevent this from happening, always make sure your alarm is set to go off, but you also always hit the button to silence it. This way, you’ll never hit the wrong button. And if you do accidentally hit the wrong button, you’ll be able to turn off your alarm before it goes off. This will spare you from any unnecessary irritation.

Wait with your alarm for 10 minutes

Do you ever feel like your alarm is too easy to accidentally turn off? If so, you may want to start slowing down. Basically, you want to get to the point where you’re waiting with your alarm for 10 whole minutes. This will get your clock-creating muscles used to waking up at the right time.

Eventually, your alarm will wake you up on its own — or, at the very least, you’ll have 10 minutes to get ready before your alarm goes off. This will help you get out the door feeling a little more well-rested than you would if you were just pressing the snooze button over and over.

Step away from the phone

The last tip is not a trick, but a reminder — step away from your phone. Even though it’s a small thing, this simple step can help you feel less irritated and hurried by your alarm. It can give you a little more time to wake up and, in turn, feel a little more well-rested.

If you can resist checking your phone and resist the urge to respond to email or text messages, you may be able to step away from your phone for a few minutes before you start your day and feel a little less rushed. It may seem like a small thing, but it can be really helpful. Take a few steps away from your phone before you go to bed and when you wake up, you may actually feel a little calmer.

Take a cold shower

This may sound a little bizarre and weird, but if you’re like most people, hitting the snooze button is something you do every single morning. You might have tried changing your alarm sound, or you may have even tried changing your wake-up time, but you’ve never stopped hitting the snooze button. If you’ve never tried taking a cold shower right before you hit the snooze button, you may want to give it a try.

The shock of the sudden cold water may actually wake you up and keep you from hitting the snooze button. Hopefully, you’ll find that you never hit the snooze button again. But if you ever do hit that button again, you’ll know that you didn’t wake up on your own, and you’ll feel less frustrated.

Conclusion

Getting out of bed before the alarm goes off is a challenge for many people. But, it’s important to know that it’s also important to take your time. So, whether you’re a morning person or a night owl, it’s good to be consistent with your morning routine. So, whether you’re a morning person or a night owl, it’s good to be consistent with your morning routine. When you make adjustments to your morning routine, you’ll start noticing the benefits.

So, when you find yourself hitting the snooze button, try these 5 easy steps and get out of bed with no problem. Daily rituals are important because they help you stay organized and focused throughout the day. They can also help you stay healthier and happier. These 5 steps will help you kick your morning habits into high gear and make sure you’re ready to tackle each day.
