Working out is defined as a systematic movement of the body to increase stamina, increase strength and improve cardiovascular endurance. Working out is an essential part of fitness. It helps in building muscle mass and increasing metabolism.

Due to working out, the body gets stronger and leaner. Moreover, it reduces stress levels and improves concentration. Working out increases your energy level and makes you happy. It is essential to follow a healthy diet and work out regularly to stay fit and healthy. Working out doesn’t only mean going to the gym. It can also be done at home with a few household items.

Exercises to do while working out

  • Standard crunches – Hold your stomach in a crunch position and then slowly lower to the original position. Do this 15 times.
  • Plank – Lie face down with your hands under your shoulders and then lift your body off the ground. Do this 10 times.
  • Side plank – Lie on your right side and extend your leg out like a plank. Hold for 30 seconds. Repeat with your left side.
  • Back extensions – Lie face down on the ground and put your hands behind your back. Raise your body up by contracting your abdomen muscles. Hold for 10 seconds. Lower back to the starting position and repeat the exercise 5 times.
  • Leg raises – Lie on the ground with your legs in the air. Raise your legs up in the air by contracting your abdominal muscles. Lower the leg back to the ground and repeat for 12 times.
  • Plank walk – Stand with your legs shoulder-width apart and your arms by your side. Walk forward by pushing your hips back and lowering your body down. Then walk back by pushing your legs back up.
  • Turkish get-up – Get up from the floor by extending your legs and arms and turn your upper body in the same direction. Lower your body back on the floor and then get up again.
